My hypnotherapy clients in Boulder and Denver have given me feedback which is quite positive in terms of eliminating problems sleeping at night.  Oftentimes people have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep because their minds are racing with thoughts, worrys, planning, etc.

I teach self hypnosis in our second session together.  You can then use it each night in bed when you are ready to sleep.  Self hypnosis involves a progressive relaxation of the body, from head to toe.  Then one clears the mind of thoughts.  Deep breathing is used throughout the process as a vehicle for releasing tension, anxiety and worry.  After the body and mind have let go of the burden of stress, you count yourself down from 10 to 1 to encourage the mind to go deep into a state of rest.

At this point in self hypnosis, you say to yourself a simple suggestion that you have come up with beforehand, such as, “I am completely and totally relaxed.”  Then you envision a peaceful setting such as a secluded beach or under a protective tree.  You will often fall asleep before you reach the point of visualizing your peaceful place.

As you can see, relaxation is the key to a restful night’s sleep. Read more about hypnotherapy  on my Hypnosis Works page
